leadership & courage
Be Seen. Be Heard. Speak your TRUTH.
Did you know? The root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart.
As Brene Brown talks about, “courage is a heart word.” “To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.”
This requires bravery, valor. It requires an unwavering commitment TO yourself and to BE yourself, ALWAYS. It requires you to show up and face potential judgment, rejection, hate, and shame.
You WILL lose some people along the way, especially those who benefited from your silence. However, the ones who matter, the ones who see your heart and who genuinely support you, will stay…and you’ll begin to attract people in your life whose values and actions align with yours.
So as a leader, in work and life, leading with courage is leading with your HEART.
It’s not always about being nice, it’s about being kind – which involves courage, authenticity, receptivity, and expressiveness.
It requires stepping into your full power with confidence, discernment, grace, and humility.
I share more of my personal journey in coming months and we’ll dig into more about what courage and authentic voice looks like both in your personal and professional lives in some exciting collaborations I have coming in September and October. Details coming soon!
